If you wish to remove the terminal from the dock, you'll need to make sure the terminal is connected to your Wi-Fi network to remain operational.

The BBPOS Smart Terminal (WisePOS E) will prioritize an Ethernet connection when possible. Even if previously configured for WiFi, the reader will switch to using an Ethernet connection when connected to the dock with a plugged-in Ethernet cable. If the reader is removed from the dock, it will switch back to the WiFi connection.

The BBPOS Smart Terminal (WisePOS E) resets its priority to Ethernet when rebooting. Even if the terminal was previously configured for WiFi, the reader will switch to Ethernet if it detects an Ethernet cable connection while starting up.

If the reader is docked but there is no Ethernet cable plugged in, it will use WiFi. Regardless of how it is connected while docked, you can still choose to connect to WiFi and manage networks on the device.
