- Some payment terminal display features are currently in beta and may not be available in your account.
Customer-facing displays give you a secondary screen for your Retail POS system, displaying real-time transaction details to your customers. They can also interact with the display for payment and to opt into marketing emails.
For merchants with Lightspeed Payments, your Smart Terminal (WisePOS E) will automatically function as a customer-facing display when using Retail POS on a web browser. To turn this function off, contact Support.
The Display app is only supported on iOS. You can learn more about using this option instead of a payment terminal display.
Requirements

- Smart Terminal (WisePOS E)
Using the payment terminal display during a sale
During a sale, your payment terminal automatically displays the items that the customer is purchasing as you add them to the sale. It will also display the subtotal of all items, any discounts, taxes, and the overall total cost.
To use the payment terminal display while making a sale:
- Navigate to the Sell screen and add items to the sale. These items will automatically display on the payment terminal display.
The quantity shown on the customer-facing display will round up to the nearest two decimal points for items sold by weight. The receipt will show the full unrounded value of the item's weight.
- Once all items are added, click Pay.
- Click your customer's chosen payment method.
- If you have tipping set up, the customer will be prompted to select a tip using the payment terminal.
- If the customer is using a card to pay, they will be prompted to insert, tap, or swipe their card.
- Click Complete sale on your Retail POS screen.
Once the sale is processed, your Retail POS screen will automatically redirect you to a new Sell screen. The payment terminal display will show the sale as Completed.
If you owe the customer change, the amount will be visible to you on Retail POS and the customer on the payment terminal display.
If the customer paid with a gift card, their remaining gift card balance will be visible on the payment terminal display.
