Lightspeed eCom creates an online presence for your business. You can activate it with a few clicks from your Retail POS.
Once activated, you get the Online register which is used to process your online sales. You can create a website with or without an online store, build a landing page, connect your catalog to social media to advertise or sell your products on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, ability to advertise your products on Google, and more. Whatever you choose, you'll need to set up your eCom to establish your online presence, including building a site.
Enabling Lightspeed eCom
Your Lightspeed eCom is located on the Online tab in your Retail POS. When you first open the tab, you can choose between two options:
- Activate a full-featured Ecommerce website that lets you sell online
- Activate a website without Ecommerce functionality, meaning customers can browse your store, but they won’t be able to make purchases.
Even if you choose the Ecommerce-free site, you can always upgrade your eCom to a full-featured Ecommerce presence for free.
Whatever option you choose, activating eCom will sync your products between POS and eCom and your catalog will appear online. You can then choose which products to sell or showcase online and what products to hide from your online store. This allows you to start with just a few, like your bestsellers, and then gradually expand the range of products available for online purchasing.
Once you enable eCom, you can further set up your eCom from the Online tab in your Retail POS. For even more customization and management options, go to the eCom admin under Online > Overview > Go to eCom (E-Series).
To enable Lightspeed eCom in Retail POS:
- From your Retail POS backoffice, navigate to the Online tab:
- Select Create online store to get a full Ecommerce website. Select Get AI Showroom to have start with a site without Ecommerce.
- Fill out a short questionnaire that will help to set up your online presence.
- During onboarding, you can connect your Lightspeed Payments account by selecting the option that your E-Series store operates under the same legal entity as your X-Series store. If you don’t have Lightspeed Payments yet, you can apply for it.
That’s it. Now, you have to make an initial eCom setup.
