- Available with Lightspeed Payments in the US, Canada, and Australia.
- The new quote builder is currently in beta and may not be available in your account.
In Retail POS, you can create a quote that lists products and prices so customers know how much they’ll have to pay before finalizing a purchase. Currently, quotes are created on the Sell screen, then converted to a sale and processed per your normal workflow. You can view open, completed, and archived quotes on the Quotes page.
The new quote builder experience allows you to build, customize, and edit quotes without the need to void and recreate the quote. From the Quote builder page, you can manage quotes and drafts, collaborate on revisions, and view revision history.
The feature will be gradually rolling out to eligible Lightspeed Payments merchants in the US, Canada, and Australia starting September 2026.
What's changing with creating and managing quotes?
When the new Quote builder experience has been enabled on your account, you can:
- Create quotes from the Quote builder page or jump to the quote builder from the Sell screen.
- Edit quotes and send updated versions to customers.
- View quote revision history.
- Collect full or partial payment with payment forms embedded directly in quotes.
- Automatically convert accepted quotes to unfulfilled sales (pickup).
- Automatically notify staff when quotes change status.
When will the feature be enabled in my account?
The new Quote builder experience will start gradually rolling out to eligible Lightspeed Payments merchants in the US, Canada, and Australia starting September 2026. No action is required.
If you're not a Lightspeed Payments merchant in the US, Canada, or Australia, there will be no changes to the quotes feature in your account.
When the feature is enabled in your account:
-
The Quote builder page will appear under Sell > Quote builder.
- All newly created quotes will be built using the new feature.
- Legacy quotes (quotes created before the quote builder was enabled on your account) will be accessible from the Quotes page until January 1, 2027.
Until the feature is enabled in your account, you can continue using the legacy quotes feature on the Sell > Quotes page.
What happens to my existing quotes?
After the quote builder feature is enabled on your account, legacy quotes can be viewed on the Quotes page until the page is sunset on January 1, 2027. Afterwards, legacy quotes will be accessible from the Quote builder page > Settings.
To action on a legacy quote, you’ll need to convert it to the new format:
- Navigate to the Quotes page.
- Click the quote to expand the row.
- Click Convert to sale.
- Click More actions > Create a quote.
The updated quote can then be viewed and edited from the Quote builder page.
