Frequently Bought Together recommendations are automatically generated in the Lightspeed Scanner app. These recommendations are designed to help increase the average number of items sold per transaction.
Locating Frequently Bought Together recommendations
These recommendations are found in two locations: the Product Details page and the Sell screen.
Search for a product and tap its name. Up to two Frequently Bought Together products will be displayed.
Create a sale and add a product. One Frequently Bought Together product will be suggested.
Calculating recommendations
Frequently Bought Together recommendations are automatically calculated by the Scanner app. The calculation is determined by:
- A minimum of 3 sales containing the same products.
- The previous 12 weeks of sales data.
- Predictive modelling information.

Yes. These recommendations can be disabled by logging into Retail POS on a computer. To disable the Sale screen recommendations:
- Navigate to Settings > Outlets and registers.
- Click the pencil (edit) icon next to your register.

In the Sell settings section, uncheck the Suggest products (Scanner app) setting.
- Click Save.
Recommendations can be turned back on at any time by checking this box.

You may not see recommendations if you have limited sales data. If, after completing at least 3 sales containing the same products, you still aren't seeing Frequently Bought Together recommendations, contact Retail Support.
