Before you can place an order in NuORDER, you need access to a brand’s product catalog. Once connected to a brand, you can browse their collections, select products, and create purchase orders directly from their catalog.
If your NuORDER account is connected to Lightspeed Retail POS (X-Series), the products you order from a brand can later be imported into your POS. This allows you to automatically create suppliers and products, receive inventory, and manage stock without manual data entry.
Understanding brand access
Brands in NuORDER may be available in two ways:
Open brands
Open brands are available to all retailers in the Marketplace. These brands allow you to browse their catalogs and place orders without requesting approval.
Approval-required brands
Some brands require you to request access before you can shop their catalog. After you submit a connection request, the brand reviews your information and decides whether to approve the connection.
Once approved, you can browse the brand’s products and place orders.
Before you begin
Make sure that:
- You have an active NuORDER account.
- Your NuORDER account is connected to Retail POS (X-Series).
- You are logged in to NuORDER and have permission to place orders.
Finding brands in the NuORDER Marketplace
To find brands:
- From your Retail POS backoffice, navigate the Wholesale page.
- Click Explore Marketplace. This opens your NuORDER account.
- In NuORDER, navigate to the Marketplace tab in the left-side menu.
- Select Find brands to browse or search for a brand. Use filters to narrow results by category or other criteria.
Note: Selecting Shop products in the Marketplace tab shows products from your connected brands as well as open brands that don’t require a connection. Currently, public brands are only available to US buyers.
- When you find a brand you're interested in, open the brand card.
If the brand requires a connection, you’ll be taken to the brand details page, where you can review information and request access. If no connection is required, you can start shopping the brand immediately.
Requesting access to a brand
If a brand requires approval, you must request a connection before you can view their catalog.
To connect with a brand in NuORDER:
- From your Retail POS backoffice, navigate the Wholesale page.
- Click Explore Marketplace to open a NuORDER account.
- Navigate to the Marketplace tab in the left side menu.
- Select Find brands to browse or search for a brand, then open the brand’s page.
- Click Connect with this Brand.
- Provide any requested information, such as your store details.
- Click Submit Request.
The brand will review your request and either approve or decline the connection. Response time may vary by brand. You’ll receive an email notification when a decision is made.
Once approved, the brand will appear in your connected brands list.
If you already know that a brand is on NuORDER (or believe they should be) you can also reach out directly to your contact at the brand and ask them to add you as a buyer in NuORDER. Once they add you as a connected buyer, you will receive an invitation to access and shop their brand’s catalog.
Accessing a connected brand
After you connect with a brand, you can view and manage your connections in NuORDER.
To access your connected brands:
- From your Retail POS backoffice, navigate the Wholesale page.
- Click Explore Marketplace to open a NuORDER account.
- Click the Home icon in the left menu to open the Dashboard.
- Scroll to Brand Connections.
From here, you can review your connections, all connected brands, and pending requests.
You can also browse NuORDER Marketplace categories to discover new brands and connect with additional suppliers.
Troubleshooting access issues
Why can't I find a brand?
Try searching by the brand’s name. If the brand doesn’t appear, they may not yet be on NuORDER.
My connection request is still pending
Some brands manually review requests. You may need to wait for approval or contact the brand directly.
I lost access to a brand, what should I do?
Access permissions are controlled by the brand. Contact the brand or your account administrator for assistance.
