eBay is one of the biggest online marketplaces worldwide. You can bring your catalog to eBay and start offering your brand directly on the marketplace.

To start selling on the marketplace, you need to connect your Lightspeed eCom store to eBay through a third-party app. One of the apps that allows to do so is the M2E Multichannel Connect app. The connection process includes connecting both eCom and eBay accounts through the app, and creating product listings based on your online catalog. After you list products on eBay, people can order your goods directly on the marketplace.

eBay charges sellers for creating product listings. There are also seller fees for the items you sell. You can find more details about eBay fees by contacting eBay support.

Requirements for selling on eBay

To sell on eBay, you need to meet the following requirements:

• Your store is located in the United States, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom.
• You have a verified eBay account.
• Comply with the eBay Business Policies.
• You have assigned EAN (for EU) or UPC (for the US) to your products. That is needed to set up your products listing.

Connecting your eCom store to eBay via the M2E Multichannel app

To start selling on eBay, you first need to connect your eCom store to the marketplace via the M2E Multichannel Connect app. Once connected, you then list your products on the marketplace, and you’re good to go.

To connect your eCom store to eBay via the M2E Multichannel Connect app:

1. From your POS, go to Online, scroll down and click Go to eCom. 
2. In your eCom admin, go to Apps → App Market and find the M2E Multichannel Connect app.
3. Click Install, then Open the app.
4. Click Register Now. You will be redirected to the M2E site where you can create a new account or connect an existing one.
5. Once you redirect back to your eCom admin, click Connect Marketplace Account and select eBay.
6. You will be redirected to the eBay page where you need to login to your account or create a new one if you don’t have one just yet.

Once you complete the connection, your products will appear in your eCom admin on the Sales channels → Sales Channels by M2E Cloud page. In case you make any changes to products such as changing the price changes or adding a new product variant, the item will be automatically updated on eBay.

Your next step is to create a listing on eBay.

Listing products on eBay with the M2E Multichannel app

To list products from your catalog on eBay, you have to create the inventory feed via the M2E Multichannel Connect app. 

To list product on eBay with the M2E Multichannel Connect app:

1. From your POS, go to Online, scroll down and click Go to eCom. 
2. In your eCom admin, go to Apps → App Market and find the M2E Multichannel Connect app.
3. From the dropdown at the top, select Listings. In the next field, select your eBay account.

4. Click the List New Items button at the top right corner:

   

5. In the Select Marketplace dropdown, select your country.

6. In the Select Policies section, specify the product settings:

   

   In the Selling section, you can specify the price and quantity settings for your products rounding, including price modification and rounding that will work specifically for eBay.

   In the Synchronization section, you can specify the syncing rules between your shop and eBay.

   In the Description section, you can create eBay-specific titles and descriptions.

   In the Shipping section, you can configure preferred shipping methods.

   In the Return section, you can set conditions to provide returns. 

7. Click Next at the bottom.
8. Select the products from your catalog that you want to list on eBay. You can search for specific products to list or select all products at once. Click Next.
9. Select the category for your products. If the suggested category is correct, hover the mouse over it and click the tick icon. To change the category, hover the mouse over the category and click the pencil icon to select a custom category.
10. Choose the specifics for a selected category. You can select one of the eBay recommended items for the specifics, or opt for an attribute which the app will take from the custom fields from your store. Click Confirm.
11. Click List Now.

That’s it. Now your products appear on eBay, and customers can purchase them from the marketplace.

Processing orders from eBay

When someone buys your product on eBay, a new order will appear in your POS and in your eCom admin on the Sales channels → Sales Channels by M2E Cloud page. You will get notification about a new order with an email or a push notification in the Lightspeed eCom mobile app.
