Hi. How can we help?

Connecting Klaviyo to Retail POS (X-Series)

Klaviyo is a marketing automation platform that allows you to create email and SMS campaigns. You can connect Retail POS (X-Series) to Klaviyo to sync your customer data and build personalized communication with shoppers.

Klaviyo integration is now in closed beta and available for select accounts.

What Retail POS data is synced to Klaviyo

Connecting to Klaviyo will enable automatic syncing of customer profile data stored in your Retail POS.

The following information will be synced:

  • Customer account data, like name, contact details, and customer group.
  • Whether the customer gave consent to marketing communications.
  • Customer order data (for X-Series orders and E-Series orders, if enabled).
  • Historical data on customers and their orders, up to 5 years in the past.
  • If you have connected Retail POS to eCom (E-Series): customer browsing analytics for the eCom website.
    • This includes website users' activity before checkout.

Klaviyo will use this data to form a list for personalized marketing so that you can create email and SMS campaigns in your Klaviyo account.

We recommend setting up SMS messaging in your Klaviyo account before connecting it to Retail POS. Otherwise, customer profiles will not sync as subscribed to text messaging. If you set up SMS messaging in Klaviyo after connecting, contact support to resync.

Your Retail POS customer data will automatically sync to Klaviyo as well as any future data updates. You can now start building personalized marketing communications with customers in your Klaviyo account.

By default, anonymous visitor activity backfill is enabled after you connect to Klaviyo. This means that your eCom site visitors' historical activity can be recorded and tracked before a shopper has been identified (for example, before they log in to their account or place an order). You can turn anonymous visitor tracking off by navigating to Account > Settings in your Klaviyo account, unchecking the Enable anonymous visitor tracking box on the Data tab, and clicking Update.
