Offer customizable discounts and incentivize customers to increase spending with promotions in Retail POS. This feature allows you to create and manage promotions in Retail POS and sync them to your eCom (E-Series) store.
Only Manager and Admin roles have permissions to add and edit promotions.
Enabling or disabling promotions syncing
Promotions syncing from Retail POS to eCom is enabled by default. You can disable promotions syncing if required.
- In Retail POS, navigate to Setup > Apps.
- Under My Apps, click the pencil icon beside Lightspeed eCom.
- In the Sync promotions section, choose Sync online promotions or Don't sync online promotions.
- Click Save changes.
Creating online promotions in Retail POS
At this time, you can only sync basic promotions that:
- Are one-time dollar or percentage discounts, including cart subtotal discounts. Recurring and conditional promotions are not supported for online promotions.
- Apply to all or specific products. Tag, supplier, brand, and SKU filtering is not supported for online promotions.
- Include everyone. Customer-specific promotions are only available in-store.
Product category promotions can still be set up for online sales but must be created and managed on the Promotions page in your eCom Admin.
Managing the promotions sync
After you’ve created an online promotion in Retail POS, it will be visible in your eCom Admin by navigating to Marketing > Promotions.
Online promotions created in Retail POS must be managed in Retail POS and cannot be edited or deleted in your eCom Admin. The promotions sync is one-way, meaning promotions created in eCom cannot be synced to Retail POS.
