How to import layaway sales from a previous POS system

Objective

Transfer layaway sales started in a previous POS system into Retail POS.

Setup

  • Retail POS for Mac or PC
  • Retail POS on iPad

Steps

  1. Click Sell
  2. Add a customer to the sale by searching for their name in the Add a customer field
  3. Add the products on the layaway to the sale in Retail POS
  4. Click Pay
  5. Click layaway
  6. Click Done
  7. Click Sales History
  8. Locate and click the layaway sale to expand it
  9. Click Edit
  10. Select the date the layaway sale was originally started from the Sale Date drop-down
  11. Click Add Another Payment to manually apply a payment (if required)
  12. Click Save

Additional Information

Recreated laybys will appear under the correct date in sales reports/payments reports; however, they will appear in the register closure for the day they are recreated.
