There are several sale types that can be saved and then continued on the Sell screen at a later time. You can only retrieve and continue a sale if you are logged into the outlet where that the sale was first initiated in.
Depending on the type of sale, the original sales lines may be locked, meaning the items in the saved sale can’t be edited. Some items in a sale may also be locked if your store uses a custom-built integration API that adds specific items as automatically “confirmed” to prevent any adjustments.
Continuing a Layaway or On account sale
Layaway and On account sales can be continued on the Sell screen to make payments or add items to the existing sale.
Layaway and On account sales lines cannot be deleted or edited when continuing on the Sell screen, indicated by a padlock icon next to the item.
- Navigate to Sell > Sales history.
- Locate the Layaway or On account sale, using filters if required.
- Click the arrow to expand the sale and click Continue sale.
- This will bring you to the Sell screen where you can make a payment or add items to the sale. You cannot delete or change existing item quantities.
Continuing a partially-paid unfulfilled sale
You can continue an unfulfilled sale on the Sell screen through Sales history. Unfulfilled sales must be completely paid before the order can be marked as complete.
The sales lines for unfulfilled sales are locked when continuing on the Sell screen, meaning they can’t be deleted or edited.
- Navigate to Sell > Sales history.
- Locate the unfulfilled sale, using filters if required.
- Click the arrow to expand the sale and click Continue sale.
- This will bring you to the Sell screen where you can make a payment or add items to the sale. You cannot delete or change existing item quantities.
Continuing an unfulfilled sale through Sales history does not mark the sale as complete. You must return to the Sales history or Inventory > Fulfillments to mark the order as completed.
Retrieving a parked sale
You may need to put a sale on hold temporarily because a customer wants to add more items to their purchase or needs to leave and come back later. Parking a sale doesn't remove any items from your inventory.
To retrieve a parked sale, navigate to the Sell screen and click Retrieve sale. Select the parked sale from the list.
You can add, remove, or change the quantities of any of the items in a parked sale. You may also discard the sale by clicking More actions > Discard sale.
Converting a quote to a sale
You can convert a quote to a sale on the Sell screen where you can add, remove, or change quantities of any items. However, once created, a quote can’t be edited and saved again. In this case, you need to archive the quote and create a new one.
- Navigate to Sell > Quotes.
- Locate the quote, using filters if required.
- Click the arrow to expand the sale and click Convert to sale.
- This will bring you to the Sell screen where you can continue the sale.
