Setting up your Zebra ZD410 and ZD411 barcode label printer

The Zebra ZD410 and ZD411 label printers allow you to print barcode labels for your items. These labels can be scanned to show your items' prices, track sales, and facilitate your inventory management. They connect directly to your computer with a USB cable.

The supported label dimensions are Normal - 2.25 in (57.15mm) x 1.25 in (31.75mm) and Alternative - 2.00 in (50.8mm) x 1.00 in (25.4mm).

Setting up your printer

To set up your printer:

  1. Connect the power cord to the back of your label printer and to an electrical outlet.
  2. Connect one end of the USB cable to your label printer and the other end to your computer.
  3. Turn on your printer.

  4. Pull the yellow latches on both sides of the printer toward you, and lift the printer's lid open.
  5. Pull the yellow roll guides apart and insert the label roll with the labels facing upwards.
  6. Release the roll guides and push them together. Make sure the label roll is secure and turning freely.

  7. Pull the labels out past the cutter at the front of the printer.
  8. Push the labels under the roll guides.

  9. Flip the labels up and align the movable sensor to the center position.

  10. Push the lid closed until both yellow latches snap shut.

Pairing your printer

  • Pairing your printer to a Mac computer

    1. On your computer, navigate to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Click Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax...
    3. Select Zebra Technologies ZTC ZD41X-XXXdpi ZPL - USB.

      The numbers next to ZD41X may change due to the model and resolution of the printer you purchased.

    4. In the Use: dropdown, select Choose a Driver > Select Software.
    5. In the Search field, type zebra.
    6. Select Zebra ZPL Label Printer, and click OK.

    7. Click Add.

    Your Zebra printer is now paired with your computer and ready to print labels for your products.

  • Pairing your printer to your Windows computer

    1. Navigate to Windows Settings > Printers & scanners.

    2. Under the Printers & scanners list, click ZDesigner ZD41X-XXXdpi ZPL, then click Manage.

      The numbers next to the ZD41X may change due to the model and resolution of the printer you purchased.

    3. From the Manage your device page, click Printing Preferences.
    4. In the Page Setup submenu, enter your label size in the Media settings section.

    5. Click Apply.
  • Pairing your printer to your iPad

    1. In the iPad Retail POS (X-Series) app, navigate to Settings.
    2. Tap Hardware.
    3. Tap Add printer.

    7. Your printer should be displayed. Tap the printer's name to add it.

    8. Once your printer has been added, tap Test printer to run a test print, or tap Done to close the pop-up.

Printing your barcode labels

Get ready to print labels for your items by following these steps.

  • Printing barcode labels on Mac

    1. In Retail POS, navigate to Products.
    2. Click on your product to expand it.
    3. Click Print Labels.
    4. Enter your label quantity in the Quantity field.

    5. Click Next.
    6. In the Label type dropdown, choose Continuous feed.

    7. Click Print...
    8. Select your label dimensions in the Paper size dropdown.

      If you are using Google Chrome, we recommend using the Label dropdown to select Portrait. This will provide a clearer output on your label.

    9. Click Print.
    10. Once the printing is completed on Retail POS, click Done.
  • Printing barcode labels on Windows

    1. In Retail POS, navigate to Products.
    2. Click on your product to expand it.
    3. Click Print labels.
    4. Enter your label quantity in the Quantity field.

    5. Click Next.
    6. In the Label type dropdown, choose Continuous feed.

    7. Click Print...
    8. Check your print preview image to see if your label looks clear.
      • If the preview is not clear, readjust your label roll dimensions by clicking on Advanced. A dropdown menu will allow you to customize label dimension options.
    9. Click Print.
    10. Once the printing is completed on Retail POS, click Done.

    If you canceled the print preview to adjust the label information, make the required adjustments and click Print again. You can also click Back to adjust the label quantities and repeat the process above to print more labels.
