Problem

The amount of cash in my cash drawer does not match the expected cash on my register closure 

Setup

• Retail POS for Mac or PC
• Retail POS on iPad

Cause

• Cash error
• A cash sale was not processed in Retail POS
• Sales from other dates are being included in the closure
• A sale was done on the wrong register

Solution

Cash Error 

• Confirm with all staff managing cash that no errors were made in taking payment/giving change 

A cash sale was not processed in Retail POS 

• If cash payment was taken, but the sale was not processed in Retail POS, the expected cash will not match the counted cash
• To account for the sale, you will have to recreate the sale 

Sales from other dates are being included in the closure

• To see which sales are being included in your expected cash total, check the breakdown of your register closure
• If a sale from another date is part of your closure, it is not possible to move it

A sale was done on the wrong register 

• If a sale was processed under the incorrect register, it will be counted in the register closure for that register
