Setting up Faire with Retail POS (X-Series)

Faire is a B2B wholesale marketplace that connects independent brands with retailers. It provides access to over 100,000 brands across categories such as home, apparel, jewelry, wellness, food, pets, kids, and books, making it especially valuable for small and emerging businesses.

Billing and pricing

Wholesale buying on Faire is free with the basic service, with no signup fees, monthly subscriptions, or per-order charges.

Retailers can optionally subscribe to the Faire Insider program to eliminate shipping costs for a monthly fee. This membership includes free shipping on thousands of partnered brands, as well as early access to new brand arrivals and virtual trade shows.

For retailers placing at least two orders per month, the subscription typically pays for itself through shipping savings alone.

Connecting Retail POS (X-Series) to Faire

Connecting your account allows you to automatically add products purchased on Faire, along with their details, to Retail POS.

To set up the connection between Retail POS and Faire:

  1. In Retail POS, navigate to Setup > Apps.
  2. Click the Directory tab to view available apps.
  3. In the Engage with brand section, find Faire and click Connect.
  4. Choose your integration preferences:
    • Edit product details before or after placing an order.
    • How to handle products with multiple variants.
  5. Select how you want to list products with Multiple variants.
  6. Log in to your Lightspeed account.
  7. Click Approve installation to accept the terms and conditions.

Once connected, you can browse and place orders on the Faire website using your existing credentials, then import products into Retail POS.

A Faire account can only be connected to one POS system at a time.

Syncing orders from Faire to Retail POS

After setting up the integration, you can sync and manage products ordered on Faire.

When you place an order on Faire, use the Sync to Lightspeed button to import products and order details. You can either manually select products or configure automatic item creation.

To import orders from Faire to Retail POS:

  1. From your Faire account, open a placed order.
  2. Click Sync to Lightspeed.
  3. Select the products you want to import, then click Add to Lightspeed.
  4. Review the products and confirm by clicking Add. The sync will begin.
  5. Once complete, click the Open icon to view the product in Retail POS.
  6. Click Save to finalize the imported products.

When items arrive and the order is marked as received in Faire, click Sync to Lightspeed again to update inventory in Retail POS.

Product sync rules

When products are available for sync, the following key catalog information from Faire is automatically brought into Lightspeed:

  • Product name and description
  • Vendor
  • SKU and GTIN
  • Retail and wholesale prices
  • Product categories, tags, and images
  • Tax settings
  • Product images
  • Item weight (and unit)

Inventory quantities are not automatically updated from Faire. This is intentional, as Faire’s delivery-based inventory updates may not always be reliable.

Inventory is updated only after:

  • The order is Marked as received in Faire, and
  • You click Sync to Lightspeed.

New products are then created with full details, or existing products updated, and inventory quantities are applied.
