When you sell worldwide with Lightspeed eCom, it’s important that visitors to your online store see prices in their local currency. This makes it easier for them to understand the cost of your products.

To convert the prices to a local currency, you can use apps from the eCom App Market.

Converting currency in eCom with the Currency Converter app

This app may charge a subscription fee. It is billed separately from your Lightspeed subscription.

The Currency Converter app converts your online store's currency to your client’s local currency based on their location. If needed, customers can select another currency in your storefront and see the recalculated prices immediately:

The main features of the Currency Converter app are:

• About 130 currencies that your customers can select from.
• Auto conversion. The app detects the customer’s country and automatically converts all the prices into their native currency.
• Friendly interface. The app provides a convenient way to switch the currencies in your storefront for visitors.
• Up to date rates. The exchange rates are automatically updated, so they are always correct.
• Easy to adjust. You can choose whether the currency selector will be displayed in the storefront or hide prices in the original store currency. It's also possible to select currencies that will be used in your store for conversion.

To use the app:

1. From your POS, go to Online and click Go to eCom.
2. In your eCom admin, go to Apps → App Market.
3. Find the Currency Converter app and click Install.
4. In your eCom admin, go to the Settings page and select Currency Converter. You can set up how the currency converter is displayed in your store, specify the price format and choose the currencies that will be available for converting prices on the storefront.

The app only displays the prices in multiple currencies. At checkout, your customers will pay in the main currency of your store.

Converting currency in eCom with the Auto Currency Switcher app

This app may charge a subscription fee. It is billed separately from your Lightspeed subscription.

The Auto Currency Switcher app converts the prices in your store based on the site visitor's location. The customer will see the price in their currency. For example, if you have all prices in US dollars, and your customer is from the UK, they will see prices in pounds:

• The customizable mobile-first design blends in with your store
• Auto conversion. The app detects the customer’s country and automatically changes currency in your store
• Friendly interface. It's easy for site visitors to switch between currencies by using the dropdown menu that is displayed in your storefront
• Up to date rates.

To use the app:

1. From your POS, go to Online and click Go to eCom.
2. In your eCom admin, go to Apps → App Market.
3. Find the Auto Currency Switcher app and click Install.
4. Open the app and turn on the App enabled toggle.
5. In your eCom admin, go to the Settings page and select Auto Currency Switcher to choose which currencies to display to shoppers.
6. (optional) Turn on the Auto switch to visitor's currency toggle so that shoppers can browse products in their native currency.
7. (optional) Turn on the Hide original price toggle to hide original prices on a product page and in the cart. If disabled, it will show the new currency price next to the original price.
