Adding order comments to your Lightspeed eCom checkout

You can add a text box on your Lightspeed eCom (E-Series) online checkout page to collect special instructions from customers about how to prepare and deliver their order. Order comments can be required or optional.

You can also add various custom checkout fields in Lightspeed eCom.

Adding order comments to checkout

To enable order comments on checkout:

  1. In Retail POS, go to Online tab > Settings.
  2. On the General tab, switch to Cart & Checkout:

  3. Scroll to the Order comments section and turn on the Order notes field.
  4. Specify the title of a text box.
  5. Choose whether to make a comment section required for shoppers:

Viewing order comments

Customer comments for an order are part of the order's details. 

To view comments for an order:

  1. In your Retail POS, go to Sell > Sales History.
  2. Click on an order to see its details:
