Problem
Creating a purchase order results in an error page for partial orders and a spinning Saving button for new orders
Setup
- Retail POS for Mac or PC
Cause
Retail POS is trying to assign the purchase order a stock number that's already in use.
Solution
Part 1
- Navigate to Inventory -> Products
- Click Stock Control
- Under Show select All Orders from the drop-down list
- Under Outlet select the affected outlet from the drop-down list
- Click Update
- Click the header Number
- Take note of the highest order number that has been assigned
If the order numbers are in sequence proceed to part 2
If the order numbers are random proceed to part 3 (view additional information)
Part 2
- Click Setup
- Click Outlets and Registers
- Look for the affected outlet then click Edit Outlet
- Edit the order number to be higher than all currently assigned order numbers
- Click Save Outlet
Part 3
- Click Setup
- Click Outlets and Registers
- Look for the affected outlet then click Edit Outlet
- Edit the order number prefix to a new unique prefix
- Click Save Outlet
Additional Information
- This issue is caused when the order number is assigned manually by the user instead of using the automatically assigned number
- For part 3, changing the prefix will be more effective than changing the order number if your assigned order numbers have a wide range
