Setting up tipping on Retail POS
Tipping can only be enabled by Retail Support. To request the tipping functionality, click Help in Retail POS to contact Retail Support.
Once tipping is enabled on your account, make sure that you have added the tipping option in Lightspeed Payments.
Processing sales with tips
Once tipping is enabled for your store, customers can add a tip to their card-based payment.
To process a sale with tipping:
- Navigate to the Sell screen.
- Add products and customer details, then click Pay.
- Select an integrated card payment type.
- To ask the customer for a tip, select Continue to tipping in # seconds... or wait for the time to elapse, then turn the display to face the customer. Otherwise, click Don't ask customer to tip and complete the sale as per usual.
The customer can choose a suggested tip percentage, enter a custom tip amount, or select No tip.
After clicking Confirm sale, they'll be prompted to turn the display back to the cashier and the tip will be added to the sale summary.
- Select Continue Payment.
- Process the payment using the payment terminal and complete the sale.
