Adding products using the NuORDER Catalog

This feature is in beta and may not be available on all accounts

Adding products and ordering and receiving stock is an agile process. You can skip the manual process and add product details directly to your Retail POS catalog using the NuORDER Catalog.

Understanding the NuORDER Catalog

NuORDER Catalog contains over 5 million products submitted by over 1000 suppliers across 18 different retail categories, offering a comprehensive range of thousands of popular brands with products for different business needs. You can search and add product information directly to your catalog in Retail POS, helping to save time and reduce manual input errors. You can import:

  • Product names
  • Descriptions
  • Images
  • SKUs
  • Variant attributes and values
  • Brands

When ordering or receiving stock, you can also search the NuORDER Catalog and import product details during the purchase order process.

Products or brands can't be added directly to the NuORDER Catalog. You can request changes through the NuORDER Catalog request form.

Importing NuORDER Catalog products from the Products page

To import NuORDER Catalog products from the Products page:

  1. Navigate to Catalog > Products.
  2. Click Add product.

  3. In the Search NuORDER Catalog field, enter the product name, UPC, EAN, supplier code, style number, or brand.

  4. Click the product you wish to add.

  5. The product fields will auto-populate. You can edit these as needed.
  6. If applicable, select the variants you want to import.
  7. Click Save.

Importing NuORDER Catalog products from a purchase order

To import NuORDER Catalog products from a purchase order:

  1. Navigate to Inventory > Stock control > Orders and begin either the Order stock or Receive stock workflow.
  2. Enter the Order or Delivery details and scroll to the Products and costs section.
  3. Use the Search or scan to add a product field to find a product.
  4. Under NuORDER Catalog, click the product you want to add to your catalog from the NuORDER Catalog.

  5. To import as a new product, select None of the suggested matches are correct. Import as a new product.

  6. Click Finish import.

  7. If applicable, select the variants to add to the order, update product details as needed, and click Add variants to order.
  8. Continue the purchase order flow steps and Save.

Importing NuORDER Catalog products in the Scanner app

To add products using the NuORDER Catalog in the Scanner app:

  1. Open the Scanner app on your iOS or Android device and begin the receive stock with Lightspeed Scanner workflow.
  2. Select the open or sent purchase order that you want to count. Review the order preview to ensure it is the correct order, then tap Receive.
  3. Enter the product name or SKU by:
    • Using your device's built-in camera, scan the product barcode. If the associated SKU is not recorded in your catalog, tap Search NuORDER Catalog for "X" in the prompt.
    • Enter the product name into the Search or add products field. If the product name is not recorded in your catalog, tap Search "X" in NuORDER Catalog.

  4. From the search results displayed, select the products that you want to create and tap Import product.

  5. Review the pre-filled product information on the Import product screen:
    • Standard products: Each product may include a product name, image, SKU code, and pricing. You can edit the supplied information and add more information as needed.

    • Variant products: Select which variants you want to import from the available list and tap Next. You can change the product name if required. Tap variants to make variant-specific edits to the pre-filled product information.

  6. When the products are ready to import, tap Save for a standard product or Import for variant products.
When creating variant products with NuORDER Catalog, you'll be prompted to select which variants to add to the delivery. Select the variants you want to receive and tap Add variants to delivery.
