To get started with conditional promotions, follow the steps below:
1. Navigate to Catalog > Promotions and click the Add promotion button on the top right side of the page.
2. Add in the relevant details for the promotion.
3. In the Type of promotion section, select Advanced to create a conditional promotion.
The types of conditional promotions you can create are:
Buy and get a discount
1. To create a "buy and get" promotion, select Buys the following items from the drop-down next to When a customer.
2. Specify which products are included in this promotion and how many of them your customer needs to buy to qualify for the promotion discount.
The min/max feature: This feature allows you to set minimum and maximum values for your promotions. For more information on the min/max feature, view this article.
If you wish to set minimum and maximum amounts for your "buy and get" promotion follow the steps below. If not, skip to step 3.
- Click Set a min or max.
- Set the minimum and maximum values for your promotion and follow the steps below.
3. Choose what will happen when your customer buys these items. In this case, we want to choose Get the following items from the drop-down next to Then they will.
4. Specify the discount your customer will receive if their order qualifies for this promotion and which products will receive this discount.
Note: The final price of the item(s) your customer "gets" at a discount must be less than the final price of the item(s) they "buy".
5. Once you have completed the steps above, you may specify which of your customers are eligible for this promotion in the Target this promotion section.
Buy and earn loyalty
Important: You will need to attach your customer to the sale for them to qualify for this promotion.
1. If you would like to promote your loyalty program by having your customers earn additional loyalty when buying certain items, select Buys the following items from the drop-down next to When a customer.
2. Specify which products are included in this promotion and how many of them your customer needs to buy to qualify for the promotion discount.
The min/max feature: This feature allows you to set minimum and maximum values for your promotions. For more information on the min/max feature, check out this article.
If you wish to set minimum and maximum amounts for your "buy and earn" loyalty promotion follow the steps below. If not, skip to step 3.
- Click Set a min or max.
- Set the minimum and maximum values for your promotion and follow the steps below.
3. Choose what will happen when your customer buys these items. In this case, we want to choose Earn extra loyalty from the drop-down next to Then they will.
4. Specify how much loyalty the customer will receive if their order qualifies for this promotion. This will always be a multiple of the normal loyalty amount your customer would earn from purchasing the products you've included in this promotion.
Note: This loyalty multiplier will not apply to products with custom loyalty. Make sure to exclude these products from this type of promotion to avoid any confusion on the sale.
In the example below, we have chosen 2 which means a customer will earn 2 times the loyalty they normally would if they qualify for this promotion.
5. Once you have completed the steps above, you may specify which of your customers are eligible for this promotion in the Target this promotion section.
Spend and get a discount
1. To create a "spend and get" promotion, select Spends the following amount from the drop-down next to When a customer.
2. Specify how much your customer needs to spend to qualify for the promotion discount.
3. Choose what will happen when your customer buys these items. In this case, we want to choose Get the following items from the drop-down next to Then they will.
4. Specify the discount your customer will receive if their order qualifies for this promotion and which products will receive this discount.
Note: The final price of the item(s) your customer "gets" at a discount must be less than the final price of the item(s) they "buy".
5. Once you have completed the steps above, you may specify which of your customers are eligible for this promotion in the Target this promotion section.
