Hi. How can we help?

Accepting Afterpay with Lightspeed Payments

To get started, an Afterpay merchant account is required to process Afterpay payments. Contact Afterpay directly to set up your merchant account and enable Afterpay on your terminal.

Enabling Afterpay for single-location accounts

Once you have successfully registered with Afterpay, you will receive an email from Afterpay titled “Afterpay Card is ready for you to set up” with instructions on how to process a test transaction with Lightspeed Payments.

  1. Follow the instructions in the email to complete the test transaction.
  2. This test transaction will provide Afterpay with the information required to complete the Lightspeed Payments integration with Afterpay automatically.

Once the test transaction has been processed, you may begin processing sales with Afterpay through Lightspeed Payments. If you do not wish to perform the test transaction, follow the steps below.

Enabling Afterpay for multi-location accounts

Merchants with multiple outlets or merchants who do not wish to perform the test transaction must complete the integration between Lightspeed Payments and Afterpay manually.

Once you have successfully registered with Afterpay, you will receive an email from Afterpay titled “Afterpay Card is ready for you to set up” with instructions on how to process a test transaction with Lightspeed Payments.

  1. Do not process the test transaction described in the email.
  2. Contact Lightspeed support to acquire your Scheme Name and Acquirer MID.

For fastest service, please include that you require this information to enable Afterpay on your Lightspeed Payments account.

  3. Once you have acquired your Scheme Name and Acquirer MID, reply to the email from Afterpay titled “Afterpay Card is ready for you to set up” with the following information:
    • Store Name: Your DBA name for your retail location.
    • Address: The address of your retail location.
    • Afterpay Merchant ID: Your unique Merchant Identification number assigned to you by Afterpay.
    • Scheme Name: The statement descriptor for your Lightspeed Payments account.
    • Acquirer MID: Your unique Merchant Identification number assigned to you by Lightspeed Payments.
  4. Afterpay support will then manually complete the integration.

Once Afterpay support has completed your request, you may begin processing sales with Afterpay through Lightspeed Payments.
