Hi. How can we help?

Using the inventory replenishment report

Understanding the inventory replenishment report

The replenishment report summarizes closing inventory, items sold, and days' cover. This report includes options to add reorder points and amounts, along with other metrics to help you to stay on top of what you need to order and when.

You can use this report to:

  • Make sure you always keep your top-selling products in stock and never miss a sale.
  • Predict when products might run out.
  • Understand customer demand for products with seasonal swings.
  • Estimate the cost of an order.

The replenishment report presents information about your current product inventory and your sales data, including:

  • SKU name: The name and SKU of the product.
  • Closing inventory: Your inventory at the end of your selected date range. If that is today then it equals your current stock on hand.
  • Items sold: The total items you sold in your selected date range.
  • Items sold per day: The average daily sales in your selected date range.
  • Days cover: The number of days before your closing inventory will run out based on items sold per day.
  • Average cost: The average unit cost of on-hand inventory during your selected date range.

Using the replenishment report

Find out what you have and what’s running low

The report shows your top-selling products first, which includes all inventory. Change the measure to On-hand inventory to focus on products you currently have in stock. Change the report measure to Low inventory to focus on products below their reorder point. Changing to Low inventory also shows products with quantities of 1 or less.

If you have Reorder point and Reorder amount measures enabled on your report, the totals will not show at the top of the report as these are product-specific data points.

Measure' dropdown menu with options 'All Inventory', 'On-hand Inventory', and 'Low Inventory' on the Inventory Report page.

Order based on customer demand

You can find data based on customer demand. For example, if you sell teacups and want to view which types are selling well, use the Date range dropdown and tabs to filter by different date periods. Use the Historical tab to see the types of teacups that were selling well in the past. Or, you might want to see which teacups will likely sell out in an upcoming season, for this, you can use the Forecast tab.

Filtering based on genuine sales

You can select More filters to Include or Exclude customers, customer groups, or promotions, in your report. This allows you to fine-tune your forecast data by factoring in or removing staff purchases or promotional sales and focusing instead on genuine sales.

By refining your forecast data, you can:

  • Ensure projections are based on typical customer purchasing behavior.
  • Avoid inflated sales figures caused by internal transactions or promotions.
  • Make more accurate inventory and demand planning decisions.
