Objective
Use the Edit sale function in Sales History allows to edit the details of a sale after the sale has been created
Setup
- Retail POS for Mac or PC
- Retail POS on iPad
Steps
What sales can be edited:
- Completed
- Layby*
- Return, Completed
- Exchange, Completed
- Parked Returns
- Delivery
- Pickup
- On Account**
*Payment details cannot be edited on Layby sales, only additional payments added
**Only the Customer and Sale Note can be edited for On Account sales. If integrated with Xero or QuickBooks Online, the information also needs to be edited manually on Xero or QuickBooks Online to match the updated information in Retail POS.
Editing a sale
1. Navigate to Sell -> Sales History
2. Filter by customer, receipt number, or sale note to locate the sale
3. Click on the sale you wish to edit to expand
4. Click Edit
4. This will open the Edit page, here you can edit:
- Sale Date
- Customer
- Sale Note
- Payment Type
- (Payment) Date
- (Payment) Time
- (Payment) Amount
5. When you've made the required changes, click Save Changes to apply.
