How to switch between iOS and keyboard mode on a Socket Scanner

Objective

To switch the mode of the Socket Scanner between iOS and keyboard mode.

Setup

  • Retail POS for iPad
  • Socket Scanner

Switching from iOS Mode to Keyboard Mode

Steps

1. Open your iPad Settings

2. Tap Bluetooth

3. In the devices list, tap the information icon to the right of your scanner name

4. Tap Forget This Device

5. Scan the following barcode and ensure a melody plays from the scanner:

6. Hold the power button on the Socket scanner until it beeps twice

7. Scan the following barcode and ensure there are three beeps:

8. Re-connect your scanner in your iPad Bluetooth settings. 

Switching from Keyboard Mode to iOS Mode

Steps

1. Open your iPad Settings

2. Tap Bluetooth

3. In the devices list, tap the information icon to the right of your scanner name

4. Tap Forget This Device

5. Scan the following barcode and ensure a melody plays from the scanner:

6. Hold the power button on the Socket scanner until it beeps twice

7. Scan the following barcode and ensure there are three beeps:

8. Re-connect your scanner in your iPad Bluetooth settings.
