Editing products

After adding products to your catalog, you can edit products individually, multiple at a time, or in bulk using a spreadsheet.

Editing a product

  1. Navigate to Catalog > Products.
  2. Scroll or use the filters to find the product you want to edit.
  3. Click the pencil icon next to the product or expand the product and click Edit.

  4. On the Edit product page, update the fields you’d like to change. For a detailed overview of the product fields, refer to Adding standard, variant, and composite products.
  5. Click Save.

Editing prices products in bulk

You can edit the supply price, markup, margin, or retail price of multiple products on the product page.

  1. Navigate to Catalog > Products.
  2. Scroll or use the filters to find the products you want to edit.
  3. Using the checkboxes, select multiple products.
  4. Click Choose an action (# selected) and select Update products.
  5. Select Edit prices.
  6. In the Edit supply and retail prices window, you can:
    • Change the Markup, Margin, or Retail price while maintaining the Supply price.

    • Update the Supply price and choose whether to Maintain retail price or Maintain margin and markup when the supply price changes.

      For example, if you increased the Supply price from $10.00 to $12.00 and chose to Maintain retail price, the Retail price would remain at $25.00 but the Markup would decrease from 117.39% to 81.96% and the Margin from 54% to 44.8%.

      If you chose to Maintain margin and markup, the Markup would remain at 117.39% and the Margin at 54%, but the Retail price would increase to $30.00.

  7. Click Save prices.

If you have a large number of products to edit, you can also edit products in bulk using a spreadsheet.

Editing Min and max replenishment quantity for products in bulk

This feature is in beta and may not be available in your account.

You can set or update min and max quantity replenishment levels in bulk on the Products page.

  1. Navigate to Catalog > Products.
  2. Click the checkboxes beside the products you want to update min and max quantity for.
  3. Click Choose an action > Update products > Edit min/max quantity.

  4. To update all the min and max quantities for all products at all outlets, enter the amounts in the fields at the top and click Apply to all.
  5. To customize min and max quantities per product and outlet, enter amounts in the fields beside each product.
  6. Once you have added or edited min and max for all the products, click Update products.

Editing tags for products in bulk

You can add and remove tags in bulk on the product page.

  1. Navigate to Catalog > Products.
  2. Scroll or use the filters to find the products you want to edit.
  3. Using the checkboxes, select multiple products.
  4. Click Choose an action (# selected) and select Update products.
  5. Select Tags, then select Add or Remove.

  6. Type the tag you want to add in the Tags field and press enter between additions.

    The character limit for tags is 255. Semicolons cannot be used in tag names.

  7. Click Add tags. To delete a tag, click the trash icon beside it.

If you are adding or removing tags on a large number of products, it could take a few minutes for the update to be reflected.

Editing product categories in bulk

You can update and remove product categories for multiple products on the product page.

  1. Navigate to Catalog > Products.
  2. Scroll or use the filters to find the products you want to edit.
  3. Using the checkboxes, select multiple products.
  4. Click Choose an action (# selected) and select Update products.

  5. Click Product categories and select:
    • Update: Use the drop-down menu to select a category you wish to add, using the search field if required, then click Update product category.

Editing brands for products in bulk

You can update and remove brands for multiple products on the product page.

  1. Navigate to Catalog > Products.
  2. Scroll or use the filters to find the products you want to edit.
  3. Using the checkboxes, select multiple products.
  4. Click Choose an action (# selected) and select Update products.

  5. Click Brands and select:
    • Update: Use the drop-down menu to select a brand you wish to add, using the search field if required, then click Update brand.

Editing inventory

When adding inventory to your products, it is important to do so accurately in order to ensure your inventory levels and reporting are calculated correctly. Before editing your Inventory level fields for each outlet, learn more about adding inventory to your products and inventory tracking.

It’s recommended to add inventory through purchase orders for accurate reporting.

Editing products linked to eCom (E-Series)

To ensure that product information is shared correctly on all platforms, you should edit general product information in Retail POS. However, some online-specific settings can be managed from your eCom Admin Panel.
