Setting up the WisePad 3 terminal

When connected to the Retail POS app on iPad, the WisePad 3 terminal leverages the iPad internet connection for processing. This means that as long as the iPad has Wi-Fi or mobile coverage, the WisePad 3 terminal will be operational for payments.

Pairing the WisePad 3 terminal to an iPad

  1. Open the Retail POS app on iPad and tap the Menu icon (☰).


  2. Navigate to Settings > Hardware.


  3. In the Lightspeed Payments section, tap Connect to bluetooth terminal.


  4. From the Nearby Bluetooth Devices menu, select the WisePad 3 terminal that is displayed.


  5. Accept the Bluetooth Pairing Request by tapping Pair.


  6. The terminal has been successfully connected when Connected to WisePad 3 is displayed in the Lightspeed Payments section.


Minimum payment amount of $0.50 in local currency (USD, CAD) or £0.30 (UK) applies to all transactions.

Troubleshooting the WisePad3

If you are experiencing issues with the Bluetooth connection, you can reset the connection.

  1. On your iPad, navigate to SettingsBluetooth
  2. Find the WisePad 3 terminal listed under My Devices.
  3. Tap on the i icon.
  4. Tap Forget This Device.
  5. Tap Forget Device.
  6. Repeat the steps in the Pairing the WisePad 3 terminal to an iPad section to reconnect your terminal to your iPad.
  7. In your Retail (X) app, navigate tap the Menu (☰) icon.
  8. Tap Online and hold for about 5 seconds, until the Support Menu appears.

  9. Tap Fix Login.

  10. On your WisePad3, locate the Reset button, at the bottom of the charger port inside of a circular hole.
  11. Use a pin or paper clip to press the button for 2 seconds.
  12. Release the button.
  13. In your Retail (X) app, navigate to SettingsHardware.
  14. From Lightspeed Payments, see Connect to Bluetooth Terminal.

  15. On your iPad, navigate to Settings.
  16. Tap the Retail (X) app.
  17. Tap Location.

Once you have completed these steps, the connection between your iPad and WisePad3 will have been reset.
