Hi. How can we help?

Navigating the Online page in Retail POS (X-Series)

  • Available on Pro, Standard, Advanced, Enterprise
  • Available on Core, Plus

After you activate Lightspeed eCom (E-Series) in your Retail POS, you have access to the Online page to manage the core functionality of your eCom site without having to leave Retail POS.

Depending on the version you chose when activating eCom—a full Ecommerce website or just a website—settings in the Online tab may vary.

Regardless of the version, you will have the core functionality needed to manage your online presence from your Retail POS. You can explore more advanced functionality through the eCom admin that you can access from your Retail POS.

The Online page overview

The Online page in your Retail POS has several tabs that you can switch between to set up and manage your eCom.

If you chose the eCom version that only showcases products and doesn’t provide online checkout, some tabs won’t appear on your Online page. To access them, switch to the full eCom version that supports selling online.

Here's the list of tabs that you can find on your Online page:

Overview. Shows you how your online store performs, gives your tips on setting up and managing your store and provides you with the link to your eCom admin that contains more settings to configure your online presence.

Webstore. From here, you can create or edit your own website, buy a new or connect an existing domain to your site, create redirects, add an online store to your own website. The Webstore tab contains several subtabs:

  • Design — allows you to customize your store look—from adjusting a product details page to customizing site navigation (if you use Lightspeed eCom sitebuilder, you do that in the site editor).
  • Categories — allows you to customize product categories for online or create online-specific categories. Filters subtab allows you to manage filters that customers use to quickly search products by specific metrics such as price, category, availability, and so on.
  • Notifications — allows you to customize emails that are sent upon online purchases to you and your customers.

Reports. Provides you with in-depth insights into online store key metrics: visitors, conversion, orders, revenue, and marketing. Each metric consists of a variety of specific parameters to help you understand how your store performs and the reason behind that.

Facebook. From here, you can connect your eCom catalo to Facebook so that you can showcase your products in Facebook Shop or run ads across social media. You can also add a Facebook Messenger link to your product pages to allow potential customers to reach out to you.

Instagram. From here, you can connect your eCom catalog to Instagram so that you can tag your products on Instagram, making them available for purchase. You can also advertise your products on Instagram.

TikTok. From here, you can connect your eCom with TikTok and use TikTok Shopping to show products in your TikTok profile and tag items in videos. With TikTok Shopping, customers will see a bag icon in your profile or videos, which they can tap on to view your product’s name, description, photos, price, and a direct link to purchase a product in your store.

Settings. Contains all the settings you need to start selling online. It has several subtabs for different settings:

General — allows you to edit general store settings—your company name and address, email, phone number, and social media links. You can also adjust regional settings such as currency, language and measures, adjust the checkout experience for customers, and add pixels to track traffic to your site.

Payments — allows you to set up payment options customers can use when purchasing products from your eCom store. You can add online payments such as Lightspeed Payments, or provide cash-on-delivery or in-store payment for pickup.

Shipping and pickup — allows you to configure how customers get their purchases. You can add worldwide or domestic shipping, local delivery, and pickup.

Lightspeed Retail — contains integration-specific settings between eCom and Retail POS. You can choose which register should report sales performance and payments for your online sales, select what outlets to sync inventory from, and a payment type to record online sales to.
