Answer
There are two ways Shopify customers sync to Retail POS:
- If a customer places an order on Shopify with an e-mail that already exists for a customer in Retail POS the order will fall under the existing customer in Retail POS
- If a customer places an order on Shopify with an e-mail that does not link to a customer in Retail POS, this will create a new customer in Retail POS
Additional Information
Retail POS will not update customer details changed on Shopify. Any updates made on Shopify to customer fields will not send over to Retail POS after the initial customer creation.
