Problem

Separate products were created for each variant after importing a .csv, .xlsx, or .xls product file instead of creating a parent product with variants under it.  

Setup

• Retail POS for Mac or PC

Cause

Not having names/having different names for product families

Solution

1. Delete the individual products that have been created by the file import.
2. Open the product file.
3. Enter an identical name into the name column for each product family (a parent product and its variants).

Additional Information

If your product is a variant, the name will be used to group products with variants in CSV imports. All variant products within the same family MUST have the same name.
