How to charge a variable fee to a customer


Charge a variable fee to a customer by making a non-inventory tracked 'fee product' and adding it to a sale.


  • Retail POS for Mac or PC


  1. Navigate to Catalog -> Products
  2. Click Add Products
  3. Click Enter product name
  4. Type in the name of the fee you want to charge
  5. Click Track Inventory for this product
  6. Leave the retail price blank, we will change this later from the sell screen
  7. Click Save
  8. Click Sell
  9. Click Start typing or scanning
  10. Type in the name of the fee
  11. Select the fee from the list
  12. Click on the price of the fee on the right-hand side of the screen
  13. Type in the amount you want to charge for the fee
  14. Click Pay
  15. Select the desired payment type
  16. If the customer is paying by cash, select the quick cash payment
  17. Click Done
  18. The customer has now been charged a fixed fee
