Factor 4 is a supported third party gift integration to Retail POS in the US and Canada. Factor 4 retailers accepting gift cards with Retail POS require configuration changes both in Retail POS and Factor 4 My Merchant Admin (MMA).

Setup

• Retail POS for Mac or PC
• Retail POS on iPad
• Retail POS Personal Token
• Retail POS Domain URL
• Retail POS Outlet Name
• Factor 4 MMA access (only Factor 4 Partner, not retailers, have access to this)
• Retail POS supported integrated payments terminal

Steps

Creating a Person Token

1. Log into the Retail POS store (storename.retail.lightspeed.app)
2. Click Setup
3. Click Personal Tokens
4. Click Generate Personal Token
5. Enter the name of the business and select No Expiry
6. Click save

NOTE: Copy this token to enter it into Factor 4 MMA

Creating Payment Types

1. Under Setup click Payment Types
2. Click Add Payment Type
3. Select Other Payment Method
4. Click Begin Setup 
5. Name the Payment Type Gift Issue
6. Enter the Gateway URL: https://mywebterminal.com
7. Click Save Payment Type

You will now need to repeat steps 2-4 to set up Gift Sale

1. Name the Payment Type Gift Sale
2. Enter the Gateway URL:  https://mywebterminal.com/vend/gift-redemption
3. Click Save Payment Type

Configuring My Merchant Admin for Factor 4 

NOTE: Before proceeding, the Retail POS Outlet and register/s setup need to be completed. The MMA site is only accessible to Factor 4 partners and Factor 4 employees.

1. Log in to mymerchantadmin.com to complete this section
2. Add the Retail POS store domain (storename.retail.lightspeed.app) and Personal Token to the location’s page
3. Click Next
4. It will now move you to the add terminal page
5. Enter 1 as the Terminal ID
6. Set the Terminal Type as Retail POS 
7. Enter today’s date for the Manufacture’s ID
8. Click Load
9. On the next screen, scroll down and click Save
10. Now it will ask you to setup the program
11. You will continue adding the location
12. After you have finished setting the currency and actions, you can View Location

Setting the Outlets in MMA 

1. From the Location’s main page click on Edit
2. On the right side, select the Outlet from the drop-down box (this should match the Retail POS Outlet) 
3. After selecting the Retail POS Outlet, click on Save
4. Set the register under the Terminal
5. Click on the merchant’s name from the string near the top of the screen to go back to the location’s main page
6. Click on the Terminal ID from the list on the right side of the screen on the left side of the box
7. In the Terminal Edit screen, choose a register from the drop-down. After choosing the desired register associated with Retail POS, click save
8. Click Load
9. Set the register from the drop-down.
10. Click Save
