Before Getting Started
The PayPoint Plus Windows is an all-in-one point-of-sale (POS) solution. The system comes with a rotating 15.6-inch touchscreen display, fully-integrated peripherals - 2D barcode scanner, 3-inch receipt printer, and full-sized 16-inch cash drawer. In addition are multiple ports for third-party peripherals (e.g.; extra cash drawer). The magnetic stripe reader is not supported with Retail POS and has been disabled.

Receipt Printer and Cash Drawer Setup
- From the Start Menu, launch the Star Micronics Configuration Utility TSP100 application
- Select the appropriate target emulate mode - Star Line Mode vs. ESC/POS Mode, and click OK
- Configure all required settings related to text and print settings
- When done, click Apply Changes
- In the "Print Tests" area, execute a few of the test print options
- Click Open Cash Drawer 1 to pop the cash drawer
- Click Check the connection to check whether you can communicate with the printer. If successful, the blue LED light above the printer will blink
- In Windows, go to the "Devices and Printers" area
- Right-click on the Star TSP100 printer and choose the "Printer properties" option
- On the "General" tab, click Change Properties
- On the "Device Settings" tab, establish the following settings:
- Peripheral Unit Type = Cash Drawer
- Peripheral Unit 1 - Document Bottom
- Peripheral Unit 2 - Document Bottom
- Click Apply
- Click No when prompted to backup device settings
- On the "General" tab, click Print Test Page to verify that the cash drawer opens after printing
Receipt Printer and Cash Drawer Setup (OPOS)
- From the Start Menu, launch the Star Micronics Configuration Utility TSP100 application
- Select the appropriate target emulate mode - Star Line Mode vs. ESC/POS Mode, and click OK
- Configure all required settings related to text and print settings
- When done, click Apply Changes
- In the "Print Tests" area, execute a few of the test print options
- Click Open Cash Drawer 1 to pop the cash drawer
- Click Check the connection to check whether you can communicate with the printer. If successful, the blue LED light above the printer will blink
- In the "OPOS" area, go to the "OPOS POS Printer Device Names" section and click Add New
- The Star Printer name is auto-populated in the name field
- Select the appropriate print width (that matches the print width established in the "General Settings" area)
- Click OK
- Click Apply Changes at the bottom of the screen
- Select the newly-added printer and click Configure
- Click Add New
- The Star Printer name is auto-populated in the name field
- Click OK
- Check the "Do Checked Block Printing" setting
- Click Accept
- Click Apply Changes at the bottom of the screen
- Select the printer and click Check Health. If successful, a sample receipt will be printed to show the printer is printing properly and click OK
- In the "OPOS" area, go to the "OPOS CashDrawer" section and click Add New
- Click Yes to both dialog pop-ups
- The Star Printer name is auto-populated in the name field and click OK
- Click Apply Changes at the bottom of the screen
- Select the newly-added cash drawer and click Configure
- Click Add New
- Click OK (the Logical Device Name will be auto-populated)
- Keep the default settings and click Accept
- Click Apply Changes at the bottom of the screen
- Select the printer and click Check Health. If successful, the cash drawer will open to show the drawer is working properly
- Click OK to close the confirmation dialog
- In Windows, go to the "Devices and Printers" area
- Right-click on the Star TSP100 printer and choose the "Printer properties" option
- On the "General" tab, click Change Properties
- On the "Device Settings" tab, establish the following settings:
- Peripheral Unit Type = Cash Drawer
- Peripheral Unit 1 - Document Bottom
- Peripheral Unit 2 - Document Bottom
- Click Apply
