Hi. How can we help?

Resetting your local data on desktop

There are several situations when you may need to reset your data when using Retail POS. Some of these situations include:

  • Receiving a negative balance on your Sell screen after processing a return
  • Adding or editing products on your Sell screen
  • Changing taxes on your Sell screen
  • Adding product details when making a sale
  • Selling recently added or edited products

Resetting local data to resync the Sell screen

Resetting your data deletes any currently open sales and completed sales not yet saved to Lightspeed servers. It also deletes the copy of your web register data stored in your browser. This will later be synced with the latest version.

To reset your local data on Retail POS:

  1. In Retail POS, navigate to Sell > Status.
  2. On the Status page, click Reset data.

Status page showing Reset data button.

  3. A pop-up will appear stating the implications of resetting your data. When ready, click Reset data.

Resetting your data will clear any open sales on your Sell screen. Check your sales history to make sure your most recent sales have been saved.

Pop-up warning that resetting data deletes any currently open sales and completed sales that haven't synced to Lightspeed servers.

  4. You will be brought to the Select Register screen. Choose your register to automatically navigate back to the Sell screen.

    Select Register screen.
