Connecting your Smartpay with SmartConnect to Retail POS (X-Series)

Smartpay integration is available only for businesses based in Australia or New Zealand.

Supported payment terminals

  • Smartpay S800, S900, S920
  • Smartpay S80, S90, D210
  • Smartpay AU D210e
  • CommBank Albert
  • PAX A920Pro, PAX A920*

*Must use as a non-integrated payment type.

Adding the Smartpay payment type to Retail POS

  1. Log in to Retail POS using an Admin user account.
  2. Navigate to:
    • Desktop: Setup > Payment Types.
    • iPad: Menu > Dashboard > Setup > Payment Types.

  3. Select Add payment type.
  4. Select Smartpay from the Payment type dropdown list.

  5. If you don't have a Smartpay account, select No merchant account with Smartpay and click Find out more. Otherwise, select Already have a merchant account with Smartpay and click Begin setup.

  6. Optionally, use the Name field to edit the name of your payment type.

  7. Optionally, use the Outlets dropdown to select the outlet(s) where Smartpay will be an available payment option.
  8. Select Pair a terminal.
  9. Select the down arrow next to your Smartpay terminal.

  10. Follow the onscreen instructions to pair with Retail POS.
  11. When finished, click Next.
  12. Enter the eight-digit pairing code shown on your display and click Find.

  13. Once the terminal has been found, click Allow Access.

  14. Return to the Smartpay payment type Edit screen.
  15. Select the register to pair with your terminal and click Next.

The pairing process will finish. On your Sell screen, the option to use Smartpay as a payment type will now be available.
